I can't believe my little man is 9 months old now. He has so much personality and is such a little ham. He is crawling and cruising and pulling things down... and being naughty, but it's cute because he doesn't know any better.
He had his appt. the other day.. Here are his stats:
Birth:
8 lbs. 5 oz.
20 inches
9 months:
20 lbs. 8 oz.
28.5 inches
Head= 43.7 cm (10th percentile.. he has a tiny head? haha)
He dropped down in the weight percentile, but it is because he has been so active.. he hasn't been gaining as quickly. He will have his 12 month appointment in September. At that appointment, he has 4 vaccinations and will have to get his blood drawn.

Summer
So I suppose since yesterday was Memorial Day, summer is officially beginning. We have a lot of things planned for this summer.
On June 3rd, Evan and I will be going to a baby shower for a friend of mine from high school. Her baby boy is due August 7th.
Evan will be attending swim classes at Goodman Aquatic Center in Verona. This will be every Tuesday night from 6/23-8/11 (or something like that). Of course, an adult has to accompany him in the pool. Eric and I will both attend, thought not always together.
I am going to take a "trial" class of Stroller Strides. I bought a used jogging stroller for $20, so we will see if I like it or not. I'm not sure if it is worth it to pay for the classes, but it might be and I might meet some other mommies in the area.
Book Baby will be starting again at the end of June (the 24th, I think) so we will definitely be attending that. Evan will be one of the older babies this time around, I think. We shall see.
We are planning to visit the zoo a few more times, go to a Madison Mallards baseball game and maybe venture out to Milwaukee for the zoo and a Brewers game.
I hope to be able to barbecue somewhat often, but we only have the little charcoal pit. I don't mind though.. I really want to learn how to operate the grill, so hopefully Eric will teach me. If I learn how to do that, I have a lot of things I want to try (kebabs, chicken, steaks.. but KEBABS especially, they are one of my favorites!)
The weather has been making me pretty angry. It is super nice on the days I don't have things planned and super crappy on the days where I have potential plans. Ok, not crappy, but not sunny like I hope for it to be.

9 months old
I'm pretty sure I put those in backwards order... The bottom is the beginning.. Haha. Oh well! No going back now!
Evan is officially crawling like crazy and "cruising." He can stand on his own for a second or two, but not if you make him.. He just does it once in a while. He has 3 teeth now. A third came in on the bottom a few days ago. Strrraaaange. I was hoping for some upper teeth, but I know they will come sooner or later!
That's all for now. I will try to update more often.

I LOVE MY BOYS
I first must say, I absolutely love Eric. And I absolutely love Evan. They are everything to me and they both love me too. : )
We got a new camera today. Eric just really wanted to make me happy. I have been complaining about it far too much, I am sure. It's just that taking photos is kind of becoming a passion of mine. I love photographing Evan and I hope to start photographing some other things soon.
Evan has begun to pull up on absolutely everything in this house. He is getting hurt multiple times a day, but that's what kids do, right? I'm not a mean mommy for letting him fall down, right? I can't just sit next to him and catch him every time he falls. He needs to learn to fall gracefully, or at least that is my opinion. Of course I will cuddle him and comfort him when he falls and of course I would never let him get seriously injured, but he is definitely in for some goose eggs in the next few months. My dad, Eric and I all won't be surprised if he starts trying to take a few steps within the next month. Crazy! He's still so little!

Broken Camera = (
Our nice camera is broken. : ( I am beyond devastated about it. We don't really have the extra money laying around right now to get a new one. We have a second camera, but in my opinion, the pictures it takes are really poor quality.
I can get a new camera which is basically the same as my old one for $150. We could put it on our credit card, but I think we both feel guilty doing that..
Donate? HAHA

Book Baby
Evan and I went to his first story time this morning. I cannot provide you with pictures because well, frankly, it's kind of weird to whip out your camera at one of these things with a bunch of other people's kids running around... So I'll just tell you about it, ok?
It was at 9:30am, but we got there early because I wanted to check out a new book to read and drop off some magazines at the Magazine Exchange cart. I let Evan crawl around the aisles while I looked at the cookbooks (They called my name, I know I have a problem). Then we went over to the kid's section and there were a couple other moms there with their kids (around age 1). They were really cute and Evan was smiling at the girls (that little flirt!). Then they opened the doors to the room where story time would occur and we all shuffled in. They had name tags aka chew toys for babies and then we had to pick a little carpet square. I sat Evan on the carpet square and he basically stayed there the entire time. There were about 20 kids there ranging from about 6 months to a little over a year. Evan was one of the younger ones, but that's okay- he was entranced by all the kids walking around. I think he wished he could do that too! We sat next to another mom named Allison and her son, Will, who was 9 months old. He was REALLY cute! Evan was being kind of shy, but Will and Evan touched each other a few times.
During the story time, we sang some songs (which were actually really cute, I wasn't embarrassed because everyone was doing it!) and the leader read a few books. Then at the end, she pulled out a big box of board books and another big box full of fun tubes to play with. Evan liked those, but wasn't really up for moving around much. Will, on the other hand, was all over the room. When more and more moms and their babies started to leave, Evan decided to crawl over to the tub of tubes and he grabbed it, went to his knees, then stood right up. He was so proud of himself! When I told another lady that he was only 7.5 months old, she seemed astonished (And that always makes a mommy happy)!
We have Book Baby every Wednesday for a while now and I am so excited. It was a lot of fun, a good place to get out of the house and meet other moms in the area with babies around Evan's age.
P.S. Can we talk about baby shoes? What is your opinion? Should babies wear shoes or just socks? I have recently realized that EVERYONE puts shoes on their baby and I was in the large minority who didn't. I bought Evan a few cheap pairs at Target because I think maybe he should be wearing shoes now.. I bring this up because there was not one baby at this story time without shoes.. the ones walking I understood, but there was a baby younger than Evan wearing shoes.. Was I totally in the dark about babies wearing shoes up until now?
P.S. #2 Thank you to Jolynn for her donation to March of Dimes! Please donate now! It is a great cause. If you want more info, go to www.marchofdimes.com or message me and I'll give you the 411.

March of Dimes
In Memory of Kevin Matthew 8/20/08-9/14/08
We donated some $ to the March of Dimes in honor of this beautiful baby boy. In return, a great friend of mine sent us this adorable bracelet.
Please find a way to donate to this wonderful cause. On the right side of your screen, there is a button where you can find the place to donate.
The Walk for Babies will occur in Madison, WI on May 2, 2009 at 9:30 am. The walk is 2 miles and it would be great if someone would join us! Let me know if you would like to walk in honor of Special K.

What's Been Going On?
Evan loves to sit in here. I think it gives him a sense of security to know that there is something surrounding him.
Since he was such a good boy at Walmart, he got his new toy. It rolls and jingles. Unfortunately, he isn't really into it. I'm not sure he understands it. He will when he can crawl better, I hope.
It's been a while since I last posted. A lot has been going on lately. Evan got his first tooth (and the second one needs to hurry it up!). He has also been sitting up a lot better. He is still working on crawling, but he is almost there. He'll make a couple moves with the knees, but then plops right back down on his belly. He's been having a little bit of separation anxiety, so that's been rough on all of us. Recently, we have "taught" him how to put himself to sleep. We had to wean him off of his swaddler blanket, because he was rolling over onto his face in it and with no arms, we were worried he would get stuck like that. It's been a rough transition, but we are at a great point right now. It hardly takes more like 3 minutes for him to get to sleep anymore.
